Royal Mail Santa letter reply

BeHereNowx32 · 16/12/2020 19:28

Hi.
My DD hasn’t received her letter from Santa. (From the Royal Mail). Does anyone know the email address to contact asking about it, please?

It’s not a huge deal, and I know they’re busy, but thought I would ask. The email address was on their website, and now I can’t find it.

Thanks!

Hi @BeHereNowx32 no answer for me sorry, but just to say we didn't get a reply either!

BeHereNowx32 · 16/12/2020 19:38

Thanks @MrsMyreton maybe they are just running really late with everyone. If I find the email address later on, I’ll pop it on here.

Sent ours on 1st. No reply yet.

NotGenerationAlpha · 16/12/2020 19:42

We haven’t had post since the middle of last week. I bought something for DD which should have arrived last Friday. I have given up and ordered something else, for more money, from Amazon. Do a google on royal and Christmas and you will see reports on a huge backlog and they aren’t doing anything that aren’t tracked.

FYI we sent our Royal Mail santa letter on 5/12. Not received anything yet.

IgnoranceIsStrength · 16/12/2020 19:42

Sent ours in November and no reply either. Also sent a birthday card 2 weeks ago which hasnt made it to recipient. And my DM posted cards to myself and both not DS, ours came Tuesday, DS1 Wednesday and still no DS2....

Thelongdarkteatime · 16/12/2020 19:43

We haven’t had a reply yet either. They must be hugely backlogged - I couldn’t find a contact email either.

wendz86 · 16/12/2020 19:44

We sent late nov and no reply either .

DebbieFiderer · 16/12/2020 19:45

No reply here either, sent early December

toomuchfaster · 16/12/2020 19:50

No reply here either, sent mid-November. Given up really, DD wasn't aware so not really bothered, but won't do it next year.

stargirl1701 · 16/12/2020 19:52

Sent ours in Nov and nothing back yet.

BeHereNowx32 · 16/12/2020 19:52

Oh wow. Ok, so definitely a huge backlog then!
Don’t think I will email them about it. It would have been something nice to keep, but never mind.
We sent our’s 1st of December.

Thanks for replies

You can download the card they get here if needed www.royalmail.com/christmas/letters-to-santa

Em8725 · 16/12/2020 19:57

Last year we sent a letter to Santa through Royal Mail. We received a reply in April. That was without the covid backlog. I am not expecting a response this year.

ItsJustASimpleLine · 16/12/2020 19:57

We sent ours end of Nov this year same as last year, last year we got our reply on 28th Dec so had to hide it from the kids and bin it.

TargaryenDragon · 16/12/2020 20:08

We sent ours early December and got a reply last week, a card each (different to the one you can download).

Last year, both were sent at the same time, one came through about 2 weeks later and other followed in January (I'd photocopied the December one and given the other child that).

They do state on the website that replies are not guaranteed, it's a bit hit and miss.

Sweettea1 · 16/12/2020 20:08

My dd got hers yesterday think they send them all the same week so hopefully it will turn up in next few days she sent her letter of middle of November.

MalbecIsMyOne · 16/12/2020 20:12

Sent ours mid November & haven’t had a response but I haven’t had any letters in 2 weeks and am still waiting for a parcel that was dispatched 30th November...I don’t live rurally I’m NE London

According to the company that sent my parcel, trying to get anything delivered in Greater London is nigh on impossible at the moment, estimated delivery time is 3 weeks! I might have to prep DC that they won’t be getting a letter back this year Confused

Whydoelephants · 16/12/2020 20:16

This happened to us last year and we got a really lovely card in jan which reflected it was late and why (can’t remember the reason they gave!) but dd was more thrilled with this than if she’d got a reply before Christmas

IzzyGee · 16/12/2020 20:33

I’m a postie......sick of emptying pillar boxes full of Xmas cards with unsealed envelopes. As I slide everything out of the box I see little envelopes slip into the bigger unsealed envelopes. So sick of lazy witless customers who cannot seal envelopes. Guess that’s why they think we’re lazy witless fuckers too.
IzzyGee · 16/12/2020 20:34

Sorry didn’t mean to quote Dragon.

MalbecIsMyOne · 16/12/2020 20:37

@IzzyGee honestly I can’t imagine what your workload is like at the moment so thank you

dementedpixie · 16/12/2020 20:40

I sent one in a previous year and never ever got a reply

BeHereNowx32 · 16/12/2020 20:40

@wendz86 thank you for that link.

@IzzyGee it must be crazy busy for you.

I didn’t want to be a pest emailing over this. I’m glad I haven’t after seeing all these replies! It’s ok if it doesn’t turn up

No problem. I assume due to social distancing rules, things may be slower at the sorting 'office'. Possibly more cards being sent as we won't see relative we usually do, so all of this is probably having an impact.
