Best Board Games For Older Teens?

peaceanddove · 16/12/2020 19:01

We can no longer play Monopoly in this house (don't ask). And, I know DH wouldn't be comfortable playing Cards Against Humanity with them. So can anyone recommend any board games for teens, thanks!

We still love Cluedo, Careers, Rummikub, London Game, Mexican Train, usual card games such as Whist, Sevens, Rummy ... Poker Blush, Chess, I love quiz type games - Trivial Pursuit, Articulate etc. Our teenage DS has told us he's bought a new board game for Christmas do looking forward to that.

I refuse to play Risk. Grin

My DH (60) still has board games from his teenage years yawn that he likes to get out.

I've just ordered new Trivial Pursuit (16+), Exploding Kittens and Articulate, which everyone seems to love.

Cleudo, Rummikub, scrabble I can cope with. I refuse to play Monopoly.

Munchkin
Talisman

Munchkin would be immense with teens. The ability to be cruel is immense.

Dixit is quite unusual and not a traditional board game per se. It's also fairly quick and it looks lovely.

Catan

Herd Mentality is a family favourite! Also played it with work colleagues over Zoom. The best part is the banter/debates over the 'correct' answer and the high five moments when your answer matches with just one other person but you still win!
