Heathrow help

Torvean32 · 16/12/2020 17:43

So tomorrow i get into Heathrow terminal 5 ( internal flight).
I then have to catch a coach which is at T2/3. How do i get there? And how will i find out which terminal the coach is at?

Thanks for your help.

The underground is the best way, and it's free (you need contacttless card to get through the barriers but you won't be charged)

Then head to the central bus station from there, it's signposted.

Hopefully this will help

Terminals 2 and 3 are so close together. The central bus station is sort of between them both. You’ll see signs for it from the underground

Cheers. So i take the underground and do i get off at 2 or 3?

Also due to limited timetable i have aound a 3 hour wait. Is there anywhere in Terminal 5 to sit as your not supposed to go to the bustop until 20 min before your time.

Thank you all for your help. This London travelling is scary to me. I'm just a small city girl

T2/3 are the same stop!

There is a Caffe Nero at arrivals in T5.

Thank you

I can’t think of anything but the Caffè Nero - I’m not sure that you’ll be allowed to sit in there, with the tier 3 restrictions, it might be takeaway only... dress warmly just incase there’s nowhere inside to wait, and I’d take a cableless phone charger and a book 🙂

I dont mind sitting on a windowsill if i have to. Sadly I've not got a wireless charger. I'm hoping i get a good seat in the couch which has one.

That's coach not couch. Although a couch would be good 🙂.
I have to swap coach at Bristol. I'm hoping it's all straight forward. You can tell I'm not a seasoned traveller. Blush

My info is slightly dated but as others have said:

T2/3 are the same stop, (aka "Central Area" on some signs).

There's certainly the Underground option(contactless card).

Another option might be Heathrow Express - it goes through T2/3 on its way to London and you certainly used to be able transfer on it for free with either a contactless card or by using one of the free tickets available from either the staff or from one of the dispensers on the way onto the platform.

FYI and in case it gets mentioned down thread the TfL red buses that were also really handy for getting around the airport are not free anymore.

Back at T5 the arrivals level itself can be cold and not very welcoming, though there's an M&S food store if you want snacks..If you do decide to loiter in T5 then it might be worth going up to the departures level - top floor - it's a bit warmer up top and there are, or at least were, pre-Covid, a couple of restaurants "landside" (sadly Carluccios of course is now gone) plus a coffee shop at the northern end of the departures level. there used to be a reasonable amount of seating..but given Covid?

As I recall the bus station T2/T3 Central area bus station is a bit cramped and not very welcoming but maybe it has changed since I last used it.

Good Luck.

I was in T5 last week and there were almost more staff than passengers - there will be loads of people to help once you get there.
