Scottish primary 1 - deferred start

Our dd is due to start school in august. Due to her birthday being February we can defer for a year.

Does anyone know if we can still defer after registering her?

Yes you need to register and accept the place then give it up if you decide to defer.

Dont automatically refer. I had 2 class mates both February February birthday and both did well.
If they have the social skills theres no reason to automaticalky refer. Also children who become the oldest in nursery can become severely bored. I'd ask to speak to the P1 teacher.
