Cool brands for 12 year old boys

My ds is not really interested in brands (suits me), but some family want to buy him some new clothes for Christmas and I want to avoid anything that might be uncool at the park.

Looking at threads from previous years, cool brands were Nike, Adidas and maybe Converse. Is this still current? How about Superdry? Any high street shops that are cool?

here its superdry, jack wills, hollister, hype

SendHelp30 · 16/12/2020 11:42

Round here super dry isn’t it. My 12yo nephew likes North face and weekend offender.

ilovelibraries · 16/12/2020 11:46

Ah, I thought superdry maybe not as cool as before. Same as hype here, I think.

Never heard of Weekend Offender. Off to google, thanks.

Here it's Nike, Champion, The North Face etc. I look on JD Sports for ideas.

Nike and hype big round here. Also, if he likes football my DS and his mates like 'rascal' clothing which is the F2 clothing line.

ilovelibraries · 16/12/2020 12:04

Wow, Champion! That was cool when I was younger (many, many years ago)

Is it not a time to make sure he does not become a fashion/style victim and make sure these are clothes that will last? Fast fashion is the second largest contributor to climate change.

My DSS likes skate brands like Element

MossandRoy · 16/12/2020 12:41

Vans in our house.

Thanks all.

@nosswith I do completely agree with you. Where are good places to get clothes for that age? I used to get FatFace for him, but he’s now outgrown almost all of their sizes. I don’t want him to be “trendy”, just not get taken the mickey out of because of a poor choice on my side.
