And started giving her details of my last meal.

She looked confused.

What she wanted was details of my last SMEAR.

😂

Anyone else suffering with mishearing stuff at the moment?!

Yes, I’ve had a number of dental appointments. The dentist wears a heavy duty masks with all sorts of fancy stuff, a shield and other PPE. I haven’t a clue what she’s saying.

Did you get a face to face appointment? wow that's amazing if you did.

Having only partial hearing and needing to lip read, mask are a nightmare for me, so yes I have given many incorrect replies. Grin

Why didn't your doctor know your smear results? Why is it it up to you to tell your doctor your own rest results? Is she my GP?

@jollygreenpea
yes, I was very lucky. I had a phone consult this morning and Dr offered a face to face appt for 3 hours later as it's a bit of a tricky gynae thing. I was very grateful.

I'm sure she loved hearing about my last meal as well 😄

It's ok for a GP to ask when you last had a smear, it's part of a natural conversation rather than turning away to look at the notes.

I struggle with hearing with masks too. Went to a click and collect point, couldn't hear my own name!

Grin. I recently had a hospital appointment. I knew I had to have a cannula for it. I thought the nurse asked to see my forearm so I rolled up my sleeve (thought she wanted to check my veins). Nope - she wanted to see my form (consent).

I was diagnosed with arthritis and I thought the Rheumatologist said cystitis! I think she recognised my very arched eyebrow and repeated herself. We had a chuckle though!

I ended up getting very flustered at Tescos check out as I just couldn't get the lady to understand how much I wanted a gift voucher to be made for.

Early in lockdown a vicar volunteering at the same place as me said "Peace be with you" and I replied "Nice to meet you too." I haven't left the house since Grin

Lol good one

Covidasaurus · 15/12/2020 15:30

Before surgery to remove a fibroid the surgeon thought I’d verbally confirmed THYROID removal. Much flustering with paperwork before we worked out what I was having removed...
