Night shift workers sleep aids

Yes anyone tried nightol or something else when they get back in the morning to help them sleep. I'm trying to sleep but I'm wide awake. This is my first proper night shift since returning from maternity leave and I can't switch off. I have another two to get through so really need to sleep.

I used to take Benadryl. However, I used to get awful "false awakening" dreams on it during the day. Probably because I couldn't fully relax wondering if the door would go or the kids schools would phone. When I took Benadryl at light I slept like the dead- in the day it was just awful.

I ended up negotiating working every other night so I never worked two in a row. Worked well as when the kids were home in the hols I just couldn't sleep in the day anyway.

I take a sleepeaze tablet and whether it's a placebo or not it seems to help! The blue box one that you have to ask the pharmacist for, not the green herbally oneSmile
