Have you got a Easter break/holiday planned and do you think it will go ahead?

If so, where?

I have a European break booked and with brexit/covid etc I am not really expecting it to go ahead, I havent paid for the accommodation and I can move the flight free of charge so not overly worried but of course I would still be disappointed if it was cancelled.

I also have an air bnb booked for March and April in the UK so keeping my fingers crossed these will still go ahead =)

How about you?

Are you anticipating brexit/covid will impact travel for most of next year (partic europe) or do you think it will settle?

Yes, I do think it will go ahead. Airlines, accommodation and holiday companies can’t afford not to!

StandardLampski · 14/12/2020 18:18

I'm not sure. 5 households sharing one holiday home.... not sure

TimeForLunch · 14/12/2020 18:29

I hope so! I have a trip to the Maldives booked for the Easter holidays which was postponed from last Easter.

I'm sure there will be travel corridors in place between us and many countries in Europe by then (am even keeping my fingers crossed for half term, although that might be pushing it).

reluctantbrit · 14/12/2020 18:41

I do hope that we can go and visit family in Germany (staying in a holiday let, not with them) but at the moment I am not sure at all.

Champagneforeveryone · 14/12/2020 18:48

I have three breaks of varying length and exoticness booked for 2021. I've only paid the minimum deposit on each and am doing my best to be positive but not over excited.

CrypticQueen · 14/12/2020 18:51

Sadly, no. So far we have vaccine for 40,000 elderly people with nothing else on the horizon. It’s a drop in the ocean, so despite the massive PR effort by the government, it’s not yet a game changer.

ureterr1blemuriel · 14/12/2020 19:09

The Oxford vaccine should be rolled out shortly so I’m hoping for an April holiday too.

We went away in summer to a Greek island, I’m so pleased we managed to get something in. It was an all inclusive and was Covid managed well. Would look to do similar.

underneaththeash · 14/12/2020 20:54

Who knows? I think ours is 50/50.

Laiste · 14/12/2020 21:29

Not Easter, but have just booked summer hols. UK :)

Nomorerainplease · 20/12/2020 17:25

Skiing at Easter. Who knows?

Monkeytapper · 20/12/2020 17:29

We have Easter booked to Fuerteventura. Only deposit paid so far with balance due on 1st Jan. think we are going to postpone it to summer or 2022. Keep reading about people not getting their covid test results back in time so can’t be bothered with the hassle of that even if it is possible to go,not to mention the extra expense.

Ghostlyglow · 20/12/2020 17:34

Not quite Easter but I'd like to go away the last week in March. I've only got as far as booking time off work. I don't think it will happen. I can't face booking something that might be cancelled.

Urghhhhhh · 20/12/2020 17:38

We almost booked a holiday home in the Lake District few weeks ago, but held off and glad we did now.

Monkeytapper · 20/12/2020 17:43

@Urghhhhhh for Easter? Do you reckon U.K. holidays will still be a no- go then ?

Ellmau · 20/12/2020 18:01

I'm starting to get worried about August now...

Urghhhhhh · 20/12/2020 18:04

@Monkeytapper, well it sounds quite likely that we'll be in some version of lockdown for the next 2 or 3 months at least and with the new strain, there's just too must uncertainty to take the risk.

nosswith · 20/12/2020 18:32

I have not. The event I was planning to go to was cancelled a while back. I had booked nothing fortunately.

Mercedes519 · 20/12/2020 18:33

Booked a week in the UK for the Easter hols.

Free cancellation until the beginning of April, am hedging my bets....

Vanillaradio · 20/12/2020 18:41

We've a cottage booked in Wales for the first week of Easter holidays. Not 100% confident it will go ahead but fortunately the cottage is owned by dh's friend so he has not required a deposit and does not expect paying if we can't go. We've also got the week off in May half term and our cruise holiday (rebooked from this May till then!) has already been cancelled so if we can't go at Easter and things look better by then we'll do a last minute break that week.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 20/12/2020 19:33

We have a holiday let that we bought 2 years ago. When it'll we had finished doing it up we went into lockdown so we have not been able to list it yet, and we want to allow people to book it as soon as travel is allowed! Really hoping that the Easter holidays will work.

35andThriving · 22/12/2020 15:29

I've got a holiday booked in England in early Feb. I don't think that will go ahead. I think holidays might go ahead in the summer but not before.
