Random question but is there a way to get in touch with an officer that has left a force and gone to another one, but you don’t know which one?

It’s unlikely they’ll give you that information.

Sunflowergirl1 · 14/12/2020 12:24

It depends on why you need to contact them. You would need to give details and they would then may contact if they felt it appropriate? Why do you need to?

Gigheimer · 14/12/2020 14:01

Hmmm maybe unlikely then. Too much details is outing but he was officer in charge on a case, case supposed to be at a certain stage confirmed by him but now he’s left and the force are basically saying he was crap, and lied about the steps he’d taken and they can’t find files/evidence. I think he’s being made a bit of a fall guy and would like to ask directly!

@Gigheimer
If they have told you that, then make a complaint to the force. I can't believe they are slagging off the officer like that but complaining will trigger an investigation as to how it was handled. Doesn't matter he has gone to another force

YesMeLady · 14/12/2020 17:07

Thats really unprofessional but you cannot contact him directly which would put him in a very difficult position. I would make a request to see the investigation officer to see how the case is progressing. If they say there are no files then make a complaint. Im not a police officer but do they work alone on a case? Wouldn't there have been other officers involved.

ScalpHelp · 14/12/2020 17:10

You can’t contact him over this.

If someone leaves their job, that’s it. You no longer liaise with them, you can’t chase them up at their new place. He’s no longer handling your case.

nitsandwormsdodger · 14/12/2020 17:14

If he's left deal with the person who is in charge now
Even if you got in touch with ex officer he's hardly gonna say " yeah I was crap and lied "
