I know it's the menopause BUT what is greatly concerning me is the memory and am strangley comfoted by all athe other awfull menopausal symptoms i have as i know that the memory brain farts are due to this and likely not alzhiemers etc.. this being the case can ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME ...DOES MEMORY GET BETTER AFTER MENOPAUSE or is the dammage permenant ?

I think it can go on a while BUT you do get your marbles back again and from colleagues I have heard they feel better than ever. Hope this is true and not just them being nice!

Going through it just now and will be glad when it’s done. Time between periods is increasing but I now have hot flushes continually. HRT doesn’t work for me. Since having kids I’ve had PMDD so any slight change in hormone levels and I react badly. I have been taking menomood with ST John’s wort and black cohosh but it doesn’t seem to ge effective anymore. Also take vit D, magnesium, B6, B complex and starflower oil which helps with mood and energy levels. But it’s a really shit time and I wish there was a quick switch off.

Oestrogel gave me my brain back

StillMedusa · 19/12/2020 10:26

Oestrogel here too... started a few months ago and what a difference! I can sleep, I'm not miserable or snappy and no more hot flushes. I see no point in suffering when medication is available!

Doesn't hurt for him to know about it, though. It'll make him vaguely useful or at least understanding/compassionate/accepting of the need for separate single quilts of different togs on the bed when his wife reaches the same stage.

HRT. Without it I was pushed to the edge of insanity! It will give you your life back. It was seven years of hell as it was. I am only just coming out the other side now.

My work colleague has started take sage from the health shop and swears by it. I'm off to get some today as I cant handle these sweats anymore. I'm glad you mentioned the itching as I wake in the night itching my face but thought it was due to the mask I wear for work.
