How to get a new car?

Well not necessarily new ? Just bigger ?
What is HP? How does that work or are there other schemes ?
Also can pip highest rate be used for any size car?
Or can you just pay monthly
Or do you have to buy outright either mew or second hand?
Thanks

If you have pip are you entitled to motability?

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 14/12/2020 10:10

I’m sure you can have Motability if you have pip. I think there’s a certain range to choose from, but I expect you could upgrade if you had he money and wanted to. If the pip stops, you either give the car back, or finance it.

I will have a look into it and check I just feel confused by all the possible options

Motability is a good scheme. They also take care of things like new tyres and servicing too. It will save you a lot of money and you will get a reliable car.

Citizens advice are really good at helping with these things. Book an appointment and I'm pretty sure they will be able to sort it for you.

If you get the care highest rate of PIP for mobility then you can use the mobility element which is roughly £60 a week to get a mobility car
Some are no deposit
Some have deposits of up to £3000
Which you obviously won’t get back at the end of the Lease term
They cover servicing tyres AA /RAC cover and insurance
You need to generally have a clean licence and you can add another driver for free
You just put in petrol or diesel

If you search the internet you can get the motobility website where they have all the cars that are available and the cost of the deposit
A friend of mind has a Mercedes GLA / SUV I think the deposit was about £2700
But she needed a SUV that was low enough for him to get into but also enough space for her wheelchair and stuff
But you can get pretty much all types of cars with a very low or 0 deposit

I don't have any advice re mobility, but in case you can't get that, I've just bought a new car, so can tell you about other finance options. HP is hire purchase, which means you can buy the car through monthly payments, usually over 3-5 years. You pay a deposit and there is an interest rate added on. You will own the car outright once you get to the end of the term.
Another option offered is PCP which is similar to HP except that the payments are generally lower, but after the x number of years you pay, you will either need to pay a lump sum to pay the car off of you want to own it outright, or you can sell the car and use the payment to pay the balance of the finance, or you can give the car back as a part exchange if you wanted a newer car.
