If yo have a dog, do you still go to hotels?

We are thinking about getting a dog but taking it slowly so we make the right choice.

Something our dog-owning friends said recently was that since having a dog, they tend to book cottages or self catering for UK holidays as it's just easier with the dog.

It just got me thinking - we hate self catering and always book hotels. So with a dog I imagine it's either kennels/dog care or find a hotel that takes dogs?

There is a great website called Pets Pyjamas, which is a booking site for dog friendly hotels
Their staff are amazingly helpful, and we book our trips with them all the time (2 dogs, 2 dc)

But even booking.com, Mr&Mrs Smith etc all have filters to allow you to chose dog friendly hotels

Some hotels will allow dogs in all rooms for an additional few (including travel lodges which is very handy)
But most hotels have certain rooms allocated as dog friendly, and they need to be specified at booking so you do need to be a bit more organised because they can book out quickly in summer months

*for an additional fee

It’s usually an extra £15-20 one off cleaning fee per stay when you bring a dog
