Has anyone had a delivery from IKEA recently?

We recently had a reshuffle of our spare room and got rid of the enormous kind size bed that was taking up most of the room. I ordered an Ikea Hemnes daybed which suits exactly what I was looking for. I placed the order a few weeks ago for home delivery with the delivery date of the 22nd of December. My Mum will be staying with us for Christmas so it's critical I get the bed on time otherwise she'll have nothing to sleep on!

However, I've recently seen on social media that Ikea are struggling with demand and customers are complaining that deliveries are turning up incomplete or not at all. I'm now worried the same might happen to the delivery I have booked.

I live within an hour of two stores and both have the bed in stock at the moment. It would just about fit in my car if I went on my own and I'd have to work out how to load it all myself.

Do I wait it out and see if my delivery will turn up or do I cancel the order and just go and collect? Has anyone had an order recently that did turn up on time and complete?

My order was delayed for 2 weeks & then turned up with every item (November) I was very pleased as I had been waiting since march for everything on my shopping list to be a availble for home delivery.
They didnt cancel until the evening before the delivery

If it’s in store, it must be in the country.
Do they fill online orders from store ever?
In your shoes, I’d be tempted to go and get one from a shop and cancel the online order.

I had an order last week. Arrived on time (with very good communication) and complete

We've had a few in the last couple of weeks, all as planned and no problems

I’ve had 3 deliveries in the last month: two were fine, and one was missing one item out of nine. That item had gone out of stock and had to be re-ordered, and is now due next week. So.....not sure what to advise tbh, you may be lucky but you may not!

Hmm, thanks all. Looks like the delivery might be a bit of a gamble. I can't really afford for it to be delayed or my poor Mum will be sleeping on the floor!
