Just thinking back over this year which has been absolutely brutal for us and so many, not just because of COVID but other things too. I’ve been trying to think of the things I’ve achieved this year to focus on those instead of all the stress and worry.

I think all of us have achieved something this year, even if it’s just getting through this

What are you proud of from this year?
Come and share the things you’ve survived and succeeded in this year so we can all celebrate the big and little things. I want to tell you all how brilliant you are, because we all need to hear it I think!

I've survived my dad dying (day 1 of lockdown 1), my mum going into a care home, my mum dying, clearing their house, selling the house, doing all the arrangements inc probate etc, not killing my brother or his wife in the process, also dealing with MIL (terminally ill), FIL (doing his best, but not asking for help until all the wheels have fallen off), and dhs knee locking up spectacularly 15 minutes before we were going on holiday leading to A&E instead of a holiday (and he was on bed rest for a week after, needs extensive surgery).
Also, my boss getting made redundant, getting a new boss, covering someone elses job as well as my own.

I've achieved getting faster running and continuing to swim in the lake when I've never done winter swimming before

I survived furlough. In fact I think I thrived in it! I've learned to sew a bit and I even made a couple of items of clothing (nothing special or difficult though!)

I've taken loads of photos and experimented with editing styles and different types of photography.

I have overhauled my diet and have lost 22kg. I have also started jogging and can comfortably jog 5k.

Flowers to the real survivors.

In my case, getting over covid, building a new PC and getting it to boot in under 6 hours, finally giving up tramadol, and after 60 years feeling comfortable in my own skin.

Went back to work which helped me get through my post natal depression.

Got out of my bank overdraft for the first time in over 10 years.

Got a mortgage to build my dream house.

Got a promotion at work.

Got offered a fully funded PhD position to research domestic violence on the condition I passed my Masters. Passed said masters (after many breakdowns along the way) while working out for a dv charity and I graduate on Friday with a commendation (merit).

Been stressful but worth it (mostly lol)
