What's this all about, does anyone know?

It's with a GP at my surgery (NHS).

I have one because I have asthma & have a check up every year. Do you have any sort of long term illnesses or conditions?

Well person check up? - if you don’t have a pretty existing condition. - The idea is to prevent future problems, by catching them early. So height/weight/blood pressure etc checked and then you are generally given a lecture or frightened into believing you’re going to die in the next week.

Ah thanks! Yes, I do have a couple of long-term conditions, but I see hospital specialists for both... I guess that is what it is all about then!

Thank you
