Here's my bear - he lives high up on the chimney breast in our front room.

He's cute, is he 3D like a stags head?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/12/2020 00:08

My favourite things are: dark green kitchen with all my retro bits; my parquet floor uncovered in lockdown; my beautiful g-plan sideboard that I got from a skip. I have had a few gins so I'll have to post pics tomorrow Grin

This picture, this cushion and my tea corner!

My huge 8ft mirror, former door to a fortified house in the Indian desert.

The gas pump cupboard which houses a huge collection of dvds.

And of course, my gorgeous dogs!

This is a nice thread. I can't post pictures as am in bed. I like your fire Brigante9

MrsBrunch · 13/12/2020 00:32

What the hell is that bear? Is it a picture or a projection or what. I'm assuming it's not an actual bear's head?

Brigante9 · 13/12/2020 00:37

@Missthedog thanks. Had it swept last year and turns out it isn’t lined, so that explains why it’s pretty ineffective. Looks nice, tho!

Fiftyandmore · 13/12/2020 00:44

Hah! No he's not real, he's fibreglass I think!

@thenewaveragebear1983 yes, he's 3D. Your kitchen sounds nice :).

@Brigante9 I love your cupboard and your dogs.

@QueenPaws that picture is great.

This is an old picture of my mum, transferred only to canvas. I love it because it's so if it's time (1950's).

These, my late mum and dad made these copies of the original ones, the originals I inherited when they passed. Love these copies even more because of the work they put into them.

Here's my pics. My scaffold board shelves in the kitchen were the first thing I every really 'did' in a DIY sense, I was so proud of myself. The stuff on them may look like clutter but every thing on there means something, or is from my childhood.

The parquet is the result of a day in lockdown with a crowbar and a sledgehammer. It had been tiled over. It's desperately in need of a professional job to finish it but I still love it. It extends right the way under our lounge too (which has also been tiled over by previous owners) but we'd never uncover that one.

The cat's just the cat Grin

@thenewaveragebear1983 I really love all of your pictures! The shelves are lovely, you've sort of conjured up a really nostalgic feeling in me for some reason! And the colour of the walls is fab - can I ask what it is? And I love your parquet floor too!

Good idea but when I try to take a photo of one of the cats he walks off

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/12/2020 14:20

@Fiftyandmore thanks. I'm not sure the colour now, it was a while ago, but it's from Valspar and it's (oddly) actually a shade of black.

RebeccaRaspberry · 13/12/2020 14:26

My Romero Britto painting maybe.

I know it's an acquired taste!

@giantangryrooster I meant to say how cute your figures were, and how lovely that your parents made them.

@thenewaveragebear1983 can I see your sideboard please?! I have a feeling our tastes are quite similar.

@RebeccaRaspberry your painting is really cheerful :)

@Fiftyandmore of course, here you go. It's a g-plan fresco (actually it's a dressing table not a sideboard) and I pulled it from a skip a few years ago in a terrible state. I love it so much!

@thenewaveragebear1983 thank you. We definitely have the same taste! I love it and all the bits you have on and above it!
