What am I going to do with 2 bottles of 8% vegan red wine?

I should have checked the substitutions more carefully. I'd ordered ready made mulled wine being lazy and knowing it wouldn't be great, but thinking it would do. Half thinking the outdoor event I plan to use it at won't happen anyway. My thinking on seeing the subs and not recognising the name was that either it was a different brand or a cheap red that I could use for mulled wine. Either would be fine.

It's an 8% red called only "red wine" and marked vegan (no idea if that's relevant)

I know no one I could serve that to. Certainly not give as a present. How bad will it be?

Why can’t you use it for mulled wine?
The vegan bit is no drama, just means it hasn’t been sieved through gelatine etc.

It’s just slightly lower in alcohol, so will be fine as mulled wine?

It will be the same as any other cheap red, just use it for making mulled wine!

Bin it!

I don’t see the issue? Presume it was around the same price as the one you ordered?

Submariner · 12/12/2020 19:15

The vegan bit doesn't make any difference to the taste Hmm If you want it for mulled wine buy a pack of mulled wine spice sachets, pop it in and heat it up.

IsFinnRogersDead · 12/12/2020 19:16

Mull it. It's hardly Petrus 05.

12BottlesOfVintageChampagne · 12/12/2020 19:16

Definitely mull it, then add a glug of brandy at the end to may up for the piddly 8% Grin

VenusClapTrap · 12/12/2020 19:17

Cook with it.

QueefBee · 12/12/2020 19:17

What about sangria?

enjoyingscience · 12/12/2020 19:18

100% mull it.

CottonSock · 12/12/2020 19:18

Mull it and add brandy

WeirdWomble · 12/12/2020 19:20

why not just try mulling it?

If not find someone locally who's doing a Christmas raffle and donate it.

DearTeddyRobinson · 12/12/2020 19:21

Add brandy, mulled wine sachets, sliced oranges and mull to your hearts content!
