Xmas card gripe

I love getting Xmas cards, but I wish people would write more than 'love from x and y' . I've had a few now from friends I haven't seen or heard from for a year, and it seems a bit pointless. I don't mean I want a round robin, just some indication of what's going on in your lives.
Otherwise, why send a card?

To stop people moaning that a card hasn't been sent?

MaMaLa321 · 12/12/2020 18:28

well, if I haven't seen or heard from them for so long, it's not really relevant, is it?

Unless you’re enclosing one of the ubiquitous round robins, it takes ages to write loads of chatty stuff. Most of us have had a crap year anyway and a card is just a communication.

I normally add a few lines but this year I have nothing to report as absolutely NOTHING has happened in my life in 2020 - unless you really want to hear about my new windows?

I like displaying cards and when I receive them I feel happy that somebody has remembered me. I don't want to read an essay!
