A nice dry sherry

Looking for a steer... I asked my brother what would he like for Christmas and he said a nice dry sherry....

Anyone any recommendations? I am not a drinker and want to buy online so can't do my usual asking in the wine shop for some help!

TIA

You want an Amontillado.

Tio Pepe is a safe bet, but this also looks good if you have a Waitrose nearby.

Croft Particular. Croft Original is a little more palatable but is more of a medium-dry.

My local independent wine shop had this on special so went with that: Lustau 'Los Arcos' Dry Amontillado .

Tio Pepe was the name I couldn't think of earlier- thanks Smile

Not Croft. Nice for those who like it but there are much more characterful Fino or Manzilla sherries out there.

Those are the varieties that I would go for. Pale, dry, thin, salty and crisp.
There are some very good dry Amontilliados, but quite a few are sweetened for export.
Perhaps ask your brother what he prefers?
