Oh, and this

80s
The first cut won't hurt at all
The second only makes you wonder

wannabebetter · 13/12/2020 00:02

Duel, by Propaganda - hello!! I was on thread 1 then got distracted!

wannabebetter · 13/12/2020 00:05

Hello, we haven’t met before. I wasn’t on the first thread. Yes, to Duel 👏🌟👏

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 00:12

@CoffeeBeansGalore

All 80s, no theme 😊

Though I've tried before to tell her
Of the feelings I have for her in my heart
Every time that I come near her
I just lose my nerve as I've done from the start

Someday I believe it
You will come to my rescue
Unchain my heart you're keeping
And let me start anew, ooh

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

All my lazy teenage boasts
Are now high precision ghosts

Second one is bananarama. Love in the first degree

The la la la la one could be half man half biscuit, but isn't cos they're not lyrics I posted 🤣

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 00:17

Opps, we're on another page.

Hello @wannabebetter. I was on thread 1 too, but sever UNs ago.

FlouncingB, breakout. Can't remember the name of the group, but the singer might be called corinne???? Swing out sister?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/12/2020 00:24

@ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf correct to Bananarama 👍😊

The la la one is part of the teenage boasts one & guessed by FlouncingB.

Hello @wannabebetter 👋. We haven't met but welcome back 😁

Spot on @ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf 😘

FlouncingBabooshka · 13/12/2020 00:27

80s
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 00:30

ah!

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 00:35

Here's a mini theme for Honey, but the rest of you feel free to take note:

Ooo, your kisses (oo)
Sweeter than honey (oo)
60s (see what I did there, Honey???)

I'm so in love with you
I'll be forever blue
80s

Oh, you cuss around women and you don't even know their names, no
Then you're dumb enough to think that'll make you a big ol' man
70s originally, I think, but there have been covers.

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 00:37

the two no one got from earlier. Only Love Can Break Your Heart - Neil Young and covered by St Etienne.

And (I love the sound of) Breaking Glass

Surprised no one got those.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/12/2020 00:45

I'm so in love with you
I'll be forever blue

That you give me no
That you give me no
. . . . .

Arrgh I know it but can't get it!!!!!!!

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 01:25

I hear you calling

wannabebetter · 13/12/2020 06:56

Respect, Erasure (just to put you out of your misery)!!

KatherineJaneway · 13/12/2020 06:59

Respect Yourself

In the 80's was covered by Bruce Willis.

shinynewapple2020 · 13/12/2020 09:43

And the first one is RESPECT
Aretha Franklin

SimplySteveRedux · 13/12/2020 09:50

Hello hello,

I'm here, late to the party (al always GrinGrin)

Thanks for the new thread Cofee

SimplySteveRedux · 13/12/2020 09:51

What?! WHY?! I'm so happy I've never heard it! I definitely don't want a YT link for Christmas either....

SimplySteveRedux · 13/12/2020 09:53

Alphaville - Forever Young. Love the synths :)

ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf · 13/12/2020 09:59

Morning all.

Yes, all correct. I just hope la honey takes note and learns something!

SimplySteveRedux · 13/12/2020 10:07

"Et c'est alors que supposement blesse par le commun des mortels
Je resurrecte encore et encore, je resurrecte encore et encore"

This is in the English version of the song. 90s.

FlouncingBabooshka · 13/12/2020 10:08

Morning all - just made DH turn off the music so I could sing through the Eurasia one until I (very excitedly) got it only to find it had been guessed (twice) hours ago...

Yes, @SimplySteveRedux 👍🏼 Forever Young is great isn’t it? Finding it somewhat odd that a song about the threat of nuclear war is currently being used for a Christmas ad!

It's fab, although I do prefer the dancier version! Yes, that part's a bit harrowing! It's usually the ad agency who suggest which song to use to accompany ads (I've worked with some of the best) and their choices are normally odd!

SimplySteveRedux · 13/12/2020 10:18

Well, life has a funny way of sneaking up on you

Is Alanis Morissettes' Ironic.
