Cleaning food waste bin

How often do you clean food waste bin and how ?
We have weekly food waste collection and brown bin for outside and small caddy in kitchen
I don't really use caddy just pop stuff straight in compostable bag and straight outside , normally we don't use daily .
Put out last week and it was put out back and as I was unwell forgot to clean it and didn't use all week
Just gone to use and noticed bit wet in bottom ( although has rained as well and lid may not of been fully shut ) so thinking as I don't know what is lurking in bottom to just use little bleach and water then let it soak , chuck down loo ( no outside drain and rinse with cold water )
Normally i just fill with hot water after collection and maybe a bit washing liquid or even just wipe with a wipe if not very dirty
In summer its worse and we have had maggots before despite everything being bagged etc
Compostable liners are a little flimsy so do sometimes split
I use it but I hate it

Well i just used a bit bleach in mine was supposed to be just a splash but i dropped the bottle!!
Put cold water in and let it soak and now going to empty down toilet so it cleans the toilet too
Then going to fill with cold water to
Make sure fully rinsed seeing as i ended up with more bleach in it than intended

Everytime after it is emptied - boiling water, a spash of vinegar , swirl round, empty in toilet, wipe inside with toilet paper until dry, put paper liner in and back into use - no bleach, no disinfecant. In our area food waste gets turned into compost earth.

Ours goes in to anerobic digestion for power or something and also compost i think
Should i not of used bleach then ?
I don't normally use bleach other than once a week down the toilet
Vinegar is def better way to go i guess
If i rinse it out several times will that remove all traces of bleach ?

Garden hose, and tip it over to drain, when it is emptied.

When I remember to do it I clean it inside with hot water and bleach and then tip it upside down on my driveway to dry it.
When it's dry I wipe the lid and rim with a cloth and bleach and then I wash the outside with hot water and bleach. All good to go.
