Please share your stories of lyrics you've had wrong, the longer before you knew and the more ridiculous they are the better. 
I've just learned I had the line of a song totally wrong for the last 18 years, one which made sense to me but has totally changed the meaning of the song for me now too.
DH had Kerrang on TV the other day (he's playing Whamageddon with his workmates so he figured it would be a safe channel to put on) and the subtitles were on TV which is how I found out. I'd have probably gone forever without knowing.
It's New Found Glory's "My Friends Over You". I always thought they'd missed an apostrophe in the title and the main line was "I still think my friend's over you". I've just found out it's "I'd still pick my friends over you." 
(The rest of the lyrics are him singing about the other person so definitely makes more sense now but I always though he just had a crush on his friend's ex. )
Maybe not one that a majority of MNetters would know but I still feel rather sheepish as I was a big fan of the band back when the song was released and I used to always sing along loudly.
