Facebook page admin snapped up something I’m giving away

I’m giving away a Dyson on my local Facebook page. The post took 2 days to be approved (when other posts were approved in the meantime). The post was just approved and 30 seconds later someone posted to ask for it. As did 4 other people!

I sent a message to the guy ( not knowing he was an admin) saying he could have it as I’ve always gone by whoever posts first gets the item. Then I checked if he was an admin because the timing between approval and asking post seemed suspicious. I’m torn between just want the Dyson out of my house plus being an admin of a fb page is a pretty thankless job and seeing what items are posted is one of the perks. And thinking he’s a cheeky sod, other people should have had a chance!

I'd give it to him, especially if you've already agreed to. It's a bit cheeky what he did but like you said it's a small perk for an otherwise thankless job.

It might be a bit cheeky, but on the other hand he presumably doesn't get paid for running the page either. I'd prob let him have it.

i'd let him have it, a perk of being admin.

I'd do it but if you advertise anything else this route choose someone else next time.

Our free page gives everyone chance to post by having to be up for 24 hours then the 'winner' is randomly selected to make it fair.

But As you've already said he can have it then let him have it.

He runs the page in his own time for free. I think he more than deserves it!

I’m admin on a free page and yes I do this.
Only with things I absolutely need tho as times are tough.

By the way, dysons sell second hand really well, if money is needed. You might see it sold on.
