How do you eat/drink Affogato?

Affogato is vanilla ice cream with espresso poured on the top.

Am I supposed to stir the ice cream so it melts and drink it?

Or

Use a spoon to eat the ice cream and treat the espresso as a hot sauce?

I like ice cream and coffee so want to try this but I need the confidence to know how to eat it first

Pour the coffee over, eat with spoon, if enough melted once no more scoopable icecream (and its not in a wide bowl) I confidently drink it and enjoy.
