My partners just been given a date in January for him to have a knee operation where he'll be off for 3 months afterwards/ he'll be on SSP for that period which is around £95 a week.
I'm on reducaed hours as we've got an 11 month old so I go to work when my mums able to have her for 2 days a week. Our bills come to around £1600 a month with our mortgage ect.
I only bring in around £700 a month so we won't have enough to cover our bills. Is there any benefits/help we could get just to help us over the 3 months? Sorry I've never applied for any benefits so I'm really not sure!
Thankyou

Hi I wouldve thought so. Go to entitledto.co.uk

It will give you a good idea of what you'll get. I'd have thought, based on what I get and friends, you'll get at least enough universal credit top up to cover your Bill's and food

When you're ready to apply, apply straight for universal credit. You should apply a day after your husbands final normal wage has been paid. Otherwise they will take it into account and you won't get the correct help.

Can you apply to not have a mortgage holiday for those 3 months?
