Hangover cures

Let loose last night (my weekend in effect due to shift work) and drank far too much red wine. Have managed to get through the day but still feeling rough.
What are your tips? I have drank lots of water, eaten dinner and napped to no avail. Early night tonight!

I'm the same today, treated myself to a glass of wine last night and somehow the whole bottle magically disappeared.

My top hangover cures:
Cold icy Diet Coke.
Cheese on toast.
Kettle chips.
Chicken dansak and saag aloo from the Indian.

Shit loads of sparkling water all day.
Rehydration sachets.
Multiple naps.

Mcdonalds and 1 or 2 glasses of wine or spirit and mixer. You won't feel drunk but it'll take the edge off

AriesTheRam · 10/12/2020 19:29

Skip the mcdonalds if you've already eaten

Lucozade sport and crisps always sorts me out

Youngatheart00 · 10/12/2020 19:30

Rehydration sachets
Naps
McDonald’s fries
Water
Glass of wine!

NoEffingWay · 10/12/2020 19:30

@HolyBuckets DP and I really went to town (in our house obviously Grin) and were up til 3am singing and dancing.
I had ordered some wine for Christmas which now needs replacing!

Another vote for Lucozade sport here and something salty and carby. Lots of sleep but at this stage of the game it would be a super early night. You'll be better by morning 😁

NoEffingWay · 10/12/2020 19:45

Salt and vinegar crisps inhaled.
Diet coke consumed
Crap tv on
I'm doing it!

School run this afternoon was not fun. (Ex-h had DS overnight yesterday).
I am a responsible grown up usually Grin

It's very rare I ever get a hangover as i have a very high alcohol tolerance. I'd have to drink all evening and night and even then I'd be unlikely to have one. I'm just not someone who feels it the next day.
But the odd time I have had one I swear by a can of normal coke, for me it has to be a can though, a bottle just isn't the same for some reason.

I have done EXACTLY that. We ordered a case of wine for Xmas and 5 of the12 bottles are gone.

borntohula · 10/12/2020 22:08

You must be beamed immediately to Scotland where you will be fed a bacon butty with lots of brown sauce, washed down with ice-cold Irn Bru. Instant hangover cure!
NoEffingWay · 11/12/2020 13:28

Day 2 and still feeling it a bit. Miles better than yesterday but still feeling headachy and thirsty. I owe my liver an apology!

Have drank a lake of tea and eating all of the right foods to replenish my body.

When I was in my early twenties by lunchtime I would be better, now I'm nearly 40 I get a two day hangover from looking at a wine bottle for too long.

I’ve had one today. Far too much wine last night. Only just coming out the other side, but terribly tired. Thankfully DH has been at work so I’ve been able to slob out shame free

EnPoinsettia · 12/12/2020 15:58

Before you go to bed, big glass of water, vitamin c tablet, paracetamol, pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar, and an antacid.

In the morning, more water, orange juice, more paracetamol, coffee/Irn Bru and a bacon roll.

Sexnotgender · 12/12/2020 16:00

1/2 pizza supper and an ice cold bottle of irn bru.

CrystalMaisie · 12/12/2020 16:00

Milk thistle before you start drinking and one when you’ve finished, and plenty of water.

Ghostlyglow · 12/12/2020 16:10

Sparkling water, carbs and a nap. Then - hair of the dog Wink

Youngatheart00 · 12/12/2020 16:15

It was rehydration sachets and McDonald’s fries for me today!

ChrisPriss · 12/12/2020 16:37

Water, rest and time

L4uz · 12/12/2020 16:50

Dioralyte and solpadeine works a treat :)

mrsbyers · 12/12/2020 17:55

Washing my hair and
Rinsing with cold water always worked for me

Hairblog · 03/02/2021 14:16

If drinking wine I use these wine drop's, they remove the sulphates that make you feel I'll. I've not had a hangover at when I use these.
