Babies giving/receiving Xmas cards

DS is 1. His nursery have sent out an email about a quarantine box to give cards to his fellow baby peers. Is this a thing? I don't want to be miserable but do babies often give and receive cards? I will do them, especially for the nursery workers but I'm just a bit surprised. I usually give toy donations to our local radio station in lieu of cards for work, friends and just get a box of biscuits or similar to say Merry Christmas.

My son was that age last year and it wouldn't have entered our heads to give out cards at nursery on his behalf! Seems totally meaningless to me.

Hell no, we didn't do that until kids were in reception!
You'll have enough class politics to deal with over your dc lifetime, don't start it now. Just ignore the email.
If you're the type to feel guilty, maybe send a card to the staff of nursery.

That is ridiculous...wait until reception to even contemplate card sending...it’s a 7 year minefield of school politics to deal with !!
