Tasty oven snacks? Which are the BEST?

Tonight I could not be arsed with the boredom of deciding what to cook, so I took advantage of the Christmas bits in the local co-op and now DD and I are happily scoffing spring rolls and tempura prawns. This has me thinking, it's my birthday next week and I think I would prefer to eat this than get a takeaway, so I need to know... what are the BEST oven able foods for picking? Nothing with cheese (or this would be far easier) as am intolerant to dairy, but that's the only restriction. Easy access to Sainsbury's and M&S. And suggestions of what to go alongside are also most welcome. Thank you!

I currently have a M&S tiger prawn dim sum selection (24 bites) in the oven. Dinner of champions!!

Oh my goodness, tiger prawn dim sum is going on the list, thank you! I'll have to fight DD for it but 24pcs we will be ok 😁

Chicken satay skewers are nice. We've had Tesco and Sainsbury's version.

Sainsbury's do frozen bite size Cumberland sausage rolls that are lovely.

LagneyandCasey · 09/12/2020 20:27

Sorry Lincolnshire, not Cumberland

Eminybob · 09/12/2020 20:29

If you are near an Aldi they do sticky pork belly bites this time of year which are bloody delicious.

Duck spring rolls are amazing. If i can stray from oven food then I loved itsu's gyoza that you find in the freezer of Asda or Tesco. They are still snacky but you fry them. They also do nice bao bao buns that are yummy and go in to microwave.

This is my specialist subject. Some of our faves from M&S are:

Mini toad in the hole
The cheese in blankets
The marmite crumpets
Mini chicken Kievs

Oh bugger, missed the dairy intolerant bit - sorry!

ThorFull · 09/12/2020 20:52

Salty beige stodge. Literally my favourite food group.
Love this time of year. An m&s mini Melton Mowbray pork pie, or 2, while everything cooks. With a dollop of piccalilli.

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 09/12/2020 20:54

Yes! This is exactly what I was after, thank you! These all sound fantastic.

Iceland party range for me.

I think they have upped their game loads in the last couple of years.

MadeForThis · 09/12/2020 21:02

Onion rings!

MrsLebowski · 09/12/2020 21:05

Higgidy pies pork and cranberry sausage rolls, nice hot or cold.

DelphineWalsh · 09/12/2020 21:08

Aldi chilli pigs in blankets

roses2 · 09/12/2020 21:08

Another vote for the M&S mini Kiev- they were amazing last year!

BarbaraofSeville · 09/12/2020 21:10

Asda, Aldi and possibly other supermarkets sell spicy battered cauliflower, in the vegan section.

I had a bag with some alloli (proper Spanish garlic mayo in the yellow tub) for dinner the other night. Plus cauliflower = vegetables.
