Is this saucepan done for?

I've recently got a few kitchen stuff back from my ex and one of them is this saucepan/frying pan. I cooked soup in it years ago and used a stick blender which macerated the base of the pan Sad is it still alright to use or should I just get rid of it? I don't want to make something which is then ruined by the cut up base! Thanks

All of mine look like that. Watching with interest...

I'd use that. I'm curious how a stick blender could damage it though?

TheYearOfSmallThings · 08/12/2020 10:09

If it's Teflon I don't use them when it's damaged. I think my DM told me it releases substances linked with cancer?

Mind you she says the same about burnt toast, barbecue and microwave ovens, so I don't know why I'm still listening to her!

I had a damaged one like that. I didnt realise there were bits coming off until I made a custard. I assume I couldn't see them in my other, darker foods. I've bought some Copperstone pans snow and there's nothing you can do to ruin them! Non stick won't come off.

I'd get rid of it looking like that. The bits will just keep coming off.

Thanks for all your replies. I don't fancy chancing anything so I'll get rid of it for the sake of £20!
