Are you allowed to take a 4 year old (reception class) out of school for a day?

Because she is under 5, is this allowed?

Yes it is allowed. You need to inform school but you don’t get fined.

You can take any child out of school for a day. It just means it’s likely to be an unauthorised absence, but I’ve never had a fine for a day (all for good reasons, not like a jolly, but for things less official than a dentist appointment). It makes no difference if they’re under 5 as they’re registered just like everyone else.
