I am beside myself with worry, I am 38 will be 39 when I give birth to my first child, I decided to have the downs and edwards test for peace of mind, my results have come back as high chance to downs, with a 1 in 19 chance, the babies NT measurements were fine with a measurement of 1,5, my midwife said that due to a low pappa reading and my age this has come back as a high result , I opted for the extra blood test now have to wait 2 weeks for my results, I am struggling to eat and sleep or even function properly with worry, can anyone offer any advice?

Hi Bridie, didn't want to read and not reply. I'm also 38 and pregnant and I understand your worry. As hard as it is, you need to stay as calm as possible. Without sounding awful, stressing about this will not change the outcome but will only make you feel worse. Try to keep yourself occupied as best you can.

Wishing you all the best.

Xx
