Curtain pole help - quick!

Tomorrow the decorator's coming to paint my living room. As I have to take everything down, I'm wondering whether to replace my curtain track with poles. But I have some pipes running down right next to my present curtain tracks, and I don't know of metal poles are likely to stand out far enough to clear them. (I'd have longer poles than the present track over that window)

If you have metal curtain poles and would volunteer to measure what the clearance is from the wall with yours, I'd be hugely grateful. It's a measurement that none of the stored provide online. And in the morning I'm going to have to let the decorator know whether to fill in the holes for my present track, or not.

Thanks!

Poles tend to be stood quite a way off the wall, because of the fanfold nature of curtains on them - usually 3". The pipes will push into that space though.

Your decorator can always fill the holes and you can push screws back through them again if you go back to track.

Have just measured - Dunelm metal pole on metal bracets.
The clearance from wall to pole is 8.5 cm.

Brackets!
Have no idea what bracets are!

Thank you so much! That's great. I'm going to be rehanging pencil pleat curtains. so if the hooks/eyelets would pass over the pipes, that would be great because the curtain would hide the pipes.

Just measure the pipes and the furthest point is 3cm from the wall.
