Pack lunch snack ideas

Hello,

Any ideas for quick to pack healthy pack lunch snacks?

DS tends to take a flask of hot food but likes a Snack for break. I try to keep it healthy as possible; fruit pots with juice drained, crackers and/or crisp (tend to do ones with no sugar albeit often struggle to find ones without - if you know of some specific ones that are please let me know Smile).

Any ideas welcome, I feel it’s not enough variety at the moment and don’t want him to get bored eating the same snacks every day.

Thanks!

If he has refrigeration or an ice pack maybe something like thick slices of red pepper smeared with Boursin/herb cheese then rolled in ham? I personally used to take these as a filling snack. Some more ideas:

Peanut butter and pretzels to dip
Oat cakes and cheddar
Blueberries - they travel well
Orange or satsuma sections
Multigrain crackers
Boiled egg

Vegetable sticks and hummus or herbed soft cheese to dip

Red peppers smeared with soft cheese and wrapped in ham like I mentioned above

Reduced sugar zucchini bread or banana bread — you can usually cut the sugar in most recipes by about 30-50% and it’ll still be sufficiently sweet

Pinwheels — fill a wrap with veg, meat & soft cheese then roll it up and slice.

I’m guessing if you’re the one in charge of his lunch and snack then he’s still at school in which case no to anything with peanut butter. Most if not all schools around me are totally nut free.
I usually send ds in with an apple or an orange for lunch, sometimes a pot of ritz crackers or a nutrigrain bar. Basically, whatever is around and quick to shove in his bag!

No, that’s meant to say for snack! His lunch is rather more substantial Grin
