Currently sat up waiting for paramedics for DS, feeling like a prize plonker. Two hours ago he was a complete state, wheezing and coughing and shaking. Now he's fast asleep, snotty but calm. How much paperwork have I just made these poor people do in the middle of the night for no reason?! Blush

Morning. Don’t feel bad, better safe than sorry. They’ll probably just be glad your DS is ok.

RJnomore1 · 06/12/2020 01:36

Better safe than sorry!

PinGwyn · 06/12/2020 01:40

That's what they're there for, you're not medically trained - they are so let them assess him and make sure he's well.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 06/12/2020 01:41

Hope your DS is feeling better soon.

grassisjeweled · 06/12/2020 01:41

Hope he's OK 💐

Kids are unpredictable- he's fine now but when he wakes he might seem ill again (I hope he doesn't) so don't be worried about that, you've done the right thing. Hope he's ok Thanks

Aww thanks everyone. Feeling stupidly guilty, but I guess I'd have felt even guiltier if I hadn't called and it turned out to be serious. They've just been and said they think it may be a touch of croup which there's no treatment for anyway. They were so lovely! All hail the NHS!

Hope the rest of the night went ok OP Flowers

My ds gets croup at least one a year and it is really scary. It always comes on in the middle of the night too. I'm not in the UK though and the doctors give him steroids for it.

ArtemisBean · 06/12/2020 08:41

We made it through! He scared us to death but seems ok today. Has just scoffed his breakfast and demanded his favourite DVD. How many lives do we get as parents?? Is it more than nine for a cat, because at this rate I'm going to need at least 45!
