Do you have to show ID for Tesco Click and Collect?

We are self isolating and as there are no delivery slots left I organized my mum to pick up my click and Collect order. This is the first time I have done this and as soon as the order went through it said they may ask for ID. Obviously the shopping is in my name, so what should I do? Are they likely to refuse to give the shopping to my mum?

They never have with me and its always ordered in my husbands name - paid for on my card though so that might make a difference.

We’ve never been asked for ID or even an address. I’ve picked up for friends as well as for us.

Give her your card just in case. Usually they ask you for the name on their list. I assume if there were two with the same surname they might request ID or if there was any age issues collecting alcohol?

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/12/2020 21:54

No, but could your mum take it just in case?

goldenharvest · 05/12/2020 21:55

No, just give your name

BikeRunSki · 05/12/2020 21:55

No

No, but I was once given shopping that was for someone with the same surname, so be sure she gives the full name.

Presumably it is incase there is alcohol/restricted items and the collector doesn't pass the challenge 25?

I collect for my grandparents & have only ever given my Grandad's full name.
