This week has been pretty rubbish as my husband was admitted to hospital for an emergency operation. He is expected to be out tomorrow so will have been in for 5 days. Due to COVID I wasn’t allowed to visit and he has been very down and scared and in lots of pain.
He has to self isolate now for 2 weeks, until a few days before Christmas and we have had to cancel our usual festive plans.
Like a lot of people we have watched lots of Netflix etc in both lockdowns. We have also already started on the Christmas movies. He is only able to walk for a couple of minutes or so at the moment and is on a bland diet. He will need lots of rest for the first couple of weeks.
He is also autistic so things like Zoom or catching up with friends and family isn’t something that works for him really.
He has hobbies he can do by himself but looking for suggestions we can do together. So far, I’ve thought of puzzles/ games/ virtual escape rooms etc. And when he is up to it, I thought I could drive us around the neighbourhood looking at the festive lights and maybe take a flask of hot chocolate with us. Anybody else have any ideas please?
It feels like we don’t have a Christmas really any more so want to add a little festive fun for both our sakes.
