How do I upskill myself?

What sort of things could I do to make myself more appealing in the job market? I’ve been a sahp for 10 years as we have two ds’s who both have complex special needs. I now work part time at home as an admin assistant. There’s not much opportunity for CPD but I’d like to see what I can do on my own. My degree is in business and marketing and I thought I’d do Google digital garage as it’s free to start me off. I know my career prospects are limited as I have to be around for the kids and my husband will only be flexible to a degree. I wonder about an excel or word course as although I can use it, my skills could do with improving. I’m not entirely sure what I’d like to do. I also have Adhd and struggle to retain lots of information.

What are you interested in? Choosing something you enjoy could make it easier to stick with.

How about video editing / graphic design / social media stuff? I think there's a big market for people who can create / edit content etc plus you can get loads of practical experience doing family videos etc

Adobe have a huge suite of tools / software plus photoshop etc would be good to learn and I have seen lots of free training online.

In my experience of excel and word it's really hard to learn in theory - I found those much easier to learn when I had stuff I actually needed to do on them.

Excel particularly is such a massive beast it's wise to narrow down exactly what you need to use it for before doing courses otherwise you could waste a lot of time learning about things you'll never use and therefore never remember.

Digital garage is a good starting point. It will give you clues about where you might prefer to land - creative and content or analytics and optimisation. It's possible to do both of course!
