I can’t say it or type it out loud because they seem to appear angrier and bigger when I do!

I normally get them if I’m stressed or run down and the usual over the counter creams don’t help at all so I wondered if you had any other ideas for drying it up or avoiding it arriving all together - I can feel it coming, it tingles and is sore when I drink my cup of tea.

That's unusual for a boil on the bum Grin

Which it might, from your title, have been. Hope you ward off The Complaint Which Must Not Be Named this time.

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 05/12/2020 14:54

Grin at this point I’d welcome a boil on my bum!

Dr Google is saying put perfume on it Hmm

An inflatable snowman on your neighbour’s lawn? A shotgun.

Cold sore? Best thing is unfortunately to let it run its course. You could try taking llysine but its too late it already there. Boots used to do a wee machine which zapped then, it stopped mines for almost a year but its now discontinuted.

AlwaysBehindTheCurve · 05/12/2020 14:59

I take l-lysine supplements daily and since starting them I’ve gone from 5-6 a year to maybe 1 every 2 years.
You can get them at Holland and Barrett’s, or off Amazon.

PegasusReturns · 05/12/2020 15:13

If you’re talking cold sores get zovirax.

Put it on straight away and reapply throughout day. Very effective

AlwaysBehindTheCurve · 05/12/2020 15:18

Zovirax doesn’t work for me.

SlightDrizzle · 05/12/2020 15:20

Piles? Cold sores? Chilblains on the buttocks? Chickenpox on the labia? What?

HollowTalk · 05/12/2020 15:30

Are you talking about herpes?

im5050 · 05/12/2020 15:38

I got aviclore anti suppressants once on prescription
Then I got them on line from a on line pharmacy
Cost 40 for 3 months supply but I can make them last 6 months and longer if I take it every other day or so
I haven’t had a cold sore since I have done this

Sideorderofchips · 05/12/2020 16:01

Get blistex cold sore cream. Sorts mine out

Laiste · 05/12/2020 16:03

I thought you were talking about a bartholin cyst (sore bump on labia)

But the cup of tea ...

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 05/12/2020 20:09

Chilblains on the buttocks

Off to ask Dr Google...

Do NOT put perfume on a coldsore. I agree with others Llysine is the way to go.

Impatientwino · 05/12/2020 22:38

Zovirax doesn't really work for me either. I find Cymex really good at shrinking them and taking away their pulse! Fast too! Much better healing time for me personally.
