Morning Mumsnet! What are you up to today?

I'm sitting in silence, as I do every Saturday morning, with a cuppa and MN. I'll get dressed shortly.

Need to do some washing but other than that, the house is clean and reasonably tidy.

Dd1's off to town to shop for presents for dd2 with her dad, & I have a small list of things I'll get them to pick up. They both need to actually get out of bed first though...

I can hear dd2 moving about upstairs but haven't seen her yet so think she's probably Minecrafting with her friends.

We're going to make some wrapping paper today, and wrap a few presents once the paint dries. I'll make a layer of birthday cake to freeze too - it can bake while we have the paints out.

I want to put the window lights up too - I have one set up but not sure whether unplugging the xbox & sky box will mean they re-set themselves or anything & keep forgetting to ask the girls' dad. Hopefully posting here will remind me to do so Xmas Hmm.

Lazy tea of frozen pizzas tonight. & probably sweets and wine since it's Saturday.

What about all of you? Anyone up to much? Xmas Smile

Morning lucysmam

I’ve had to start my day with a name change as accidentally outed myself to a friend IRL, but I regularly enjoy your threads Grin

I’m debating with myself whether to go and make my second coffee. If the DC hear me I will get inundated with demands for snacks and be unable to enjoy it in peace, though. Confused

We have a few random jobs to do. DH wants to go shopping. I’m going to get roped into playing Mario with the DC, which will end in tears because their ambition greatly exceeds their skill.

Tonight - Strictly and a bottle of Prosecco, to celebrate various birthdays we can’t celebrate in person. Also hoping to persuade DH to try out a new board game with me.

Oh and one more important job- my current library book is a bit disappointing, so I’m aiming to finish it and start the next one!

InsufferableLKIA · 05/12/2020 10:39

kaleishorrid Flowers that’s a tough combination. Hope you are okay.

SIL coming to visit DD for the first time since she was born a month ago. We’ll probably take DS for a walk. DH needs to do a few jobs - jigsawing the kick boards (no idea why they all of a sudden don’t fit!), cleaning out the chickens, a small top up shop, and doing a clothes bank run.

Imperfectcurves · 05/12/2020 10:42

Wrapping and packing parcels all weekend ready for posting first thing on Monday!

TroysMammy · 05/12/2020 10:45

Shopping for mundane stuff like a replacement soda stream gas bottle. Then when back home I will again be making cards and tidying up my craft room.

FippertyGibbett · 05/12/2020 10:47

I’d love to have a day where I’ve absolutely nothing to do.
That would be heaven.

WantChewbaccaForGood · 05/12/2020 10:49

I'm supposed to be tidying. I'm gonna do that now.
Honest.
Right now.

Morning. That is quite a day you have kaleishorrid Flowers

I've slept kind of late. Did some yoga. Heading out with DH to the pharmacy and some fresh air soon. Need to sort out the kitchen later, and do some reading (attempting to study). No plans beyond that.

badlydrawnbear · 05/12/2020 11:19

I am in the middle of sorting out the cupboard where we keep the pasta/ rice/ dried pulses and throwing away stuff with a best before 5 years ago that we have never used so presumably never will.
I need to get DDs to do homework and get dressed.
There is a festive-themed online virtual sleepover organised by Guiding locally, which I (a Guide leader) am doing with DDs (a Rainbow and a Brownie). There are very few set things at set times, mostly a suggested list of themed activities, but I am fitting in things I already have and need to do, so we are making some decorations, making some cards for grandparents, writing some Christmas cards for DDs' friends, making mince pies, might go out this evening to look at other people's Christmas lights, then we are supposed to build a den to sleep in but DDs have decided we are going to sleep in each other's beds so they are sleeping in mine and I have to sleep in one of theirs. DH is going to tidy the front room/ throw away things ready to put up the Christmas tree tomorrow.

Thank you

I'm spending the morning with baby DD while DH is at synagogue. It's lovely! BFing on the sofa, looking forward to lunch when DH gets back. He always regales me with stories of the congregants and rabbi, which I always enjoy!

Nunyabusiness · 05/12/2020 12:56

It's tree decoration day, woohoo! Kids are out at a club and due back in about an hour, husband has popped over to a friend to have a doorstep catch up and drop off the ingredients for the dinner party we had planned (which is now being cooked in two households and enjoyed over zoom). I've got the ironing done and the bedsheets washed, now I'm making the most of that last little slice of peace by eating lunch, watching Big Little Lies and drinking a glass of wine - heaven! The chaos begins when the rest of the family arrive home, the decs are ready and waiting to go!

Sonofapizzaman · 05/12/2020 12:59

I’m having a bit of a tidy up and have some painting to do too. Currently sitting on my bed putting both off though!
