What touches your heart?

For me, it's genuine affection between, for example, an old couple.

I love seeing old couples walking hand in hand down the road. Or

For example, that adorable old couple on goggle box who have now passed on.

Leon and June.

What about you Smile

What touches my heart recently is people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

I've changed track in my support career. I go to work now and spend all day with people who are very different. They might ask a million questions or rock, or say very random things. Myself and the other staff are just kind to them. They touch my heart a lot. One time I was doing two to one obs on a man with autism who self harms and my colleague was a semi pro footballer, and really hot looking. Watching him be so kind to this little vulnerable chap was lovely.

My dd flying across the playground at home-time, looking dishevelled hair falling out her ponytail trailing her jacket and bag behind her shouting that's my mummy😂😂

I’m very emotional persons so most things. The most random thing from recently was when Iceland the shop said they would like to help move the vaccines. I cried reading it then cried telling my friend about it later that day!

Little children being shown how to stroke and take care of baby animals like chicks and rabbits. Makes me well up! Chubby little hands on soft fur, clumsy but gentle.

MaddeningtheUnhelpful · 05/12/2020 12:49

Billy Joel. Adore him and his beautiful music

Awww. I'm the same with the wee cherub (3 I think) from the next farm. He's just so cute and when we meet when I'm walking my pup (Captain Barbarossa) the wee man lights up. His Mum told me a while ago that he was autistic and very restricted verbally but chews her ear off all the way home after cuddling and throwing sticks with Captain Barb'. I feel so touched that my daft pup has that effect on him and that makes me proud.

Children singing at school, really belting out an ancient hymn or carol like they mean it. Missing my Christmas concert this year...

Children singing carols.

I picked up my 2 year old from childcare yesterday and he said 'I want to go home now mummy'. It sounds pathetic but just the awareness that we have created somewhere he wants to be really got me

When I watch videos of dogs reactions to seeing their owner after a long time apart. Usually US military people.

This morning, when I went outside I saw the beautiful salmon pink sky with still shinning moon. That was beautiful, and awed me speechless.

something2say · 05/12/2020 18:01

Mabelface he's gorgeous! Those feet all stretched out!!

Shopaholic100 · 05/12/2020 18:17

I’ve been a sahm whilst my children were growing up, often being asked why I’m not working by others (I think each family should decide according to their own circumstances), my daughter said thanks mum you’ve always been there for me. Just made it all worth it.😀

People who are so kind and devoted to their pets . Touches me when reading how much they are loved . If only all animals and pets could be loved so much .
Lots of things touch me but mainly it's is simple kindness to others .

PoptartPoptart · 05/12/2020 23:35

When I help a child at school and they have that lightbulb moment when something finally clicks and they have learnt something new. It could be something as simple as remembering to spell a tricky word or moving up to the next level of reading books, but the joy on their face at how proud they feel of themselves gets me every time.
I love my job.

ThistleDownHair · 05/12/2020 23:40

Seeing OH with his grandmother (unfortunately she recently passed). He clearly adored her and would always give her a kiss and a hug.

Bathrum · 05/12/2020 23:44

I'm always really moved when I see someone young achieve something awesome (eg Peter winning Bake Off)... Makes me think of how their parents must be bursting with pride. I always get very emotional and teary at those kinds of things.

NaturesEnd · 05/12/2020 23:44

I like the master returns thing on reddit, people being reunited with their dogs. Also the babies being able to hear for the first time, there was one where the baby had a severely cute wobbly lip, I cried.

bingowingsmcgee · 05/12/2020 23:53

I've had a really overwhelming day, and I was exhaustedly putting a heap of my youngest daughter's washing away before putting her to bed. She said 'oh thanks for doing that for me mum', and I felt seen suddenly. I was so flat, but the fact that she saw that I was putting myself out for her just really got to me. So much of what we do as mums is just taken for granted. I felt so touched by her appreciation.

Babyroobs · 06/12/2020 00:18

I love to hear children sing in a group of choir. I really miss the Christmas concerts and plays now my kids are older.
