If you saw a young adolescent male with long hair (past shoulders), rose gold glasses, and a pink coat what would think? Honestly.

Erm, nothing? Probably wouldn’t even notice unless I liked the coat?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 04/12/2020 21:36

Not a lot. I rarely think much about others appearance, too busy concentrating on my own issues and what people think of me!

mynameiscalypso · 04/12/2020 21:37

I like the sound of rose gold glasses; I quite want some myself

Nothing really. What are we meant to think?

LindaEllen · 04/12/2020 21:40

The only reason I'd think it was odd would be if someone I knew suddenly changed to that style. If it was a stranger I don't think I'd have an opinion (past 'I want your coat' anyway).

BarefootbyMoonlight · 04/12/2020 21:42

I might wonder how warm the coat was

SpudsandGravy · 04/12/2020 21:43

I work in a Uni and I'd probably assume he was one of my students :)

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 04/12/2020 21:46

Nice coat? I don't really notice peoples clothes or hair unless I particularly like the style.

YukoandHiro · 04/12/2020 21:47

That's a lewk

Eckhart · 04/12/2020 21:48

I'd think 'There's a young adolescent male with long hair (past shoulders), rose gold glasses, and a pink coat.'

What would you think, OP?

namechangeforfriday · 04/12/2020 21:51

Probably think he looked quite cool tbh. Or I wouldn’t think anything, because I don’t really spend any time assessing strangers’ appearance

BillieBlack · 04/12/2020 21:51

Well, I was hoping no one would care as my son wants a pink coat (although I’m struggling to find one his size as he also wants it to be fluffy inside). But there is resistance from family members who think it would make people think he was a girl/trans. There is also the worry he would be a target for bullies (he’s already bullied). Yes, his glasses are lovely!

OP posts:
BefuddledPerson · 04/12/2020 21:53

I wouldn't really think about it much, honestly.

Diverseduvet · 04/12/2020 21:55

I would think 'look at that guy, he must be really brave and confident'

BefuddledPerson · 04/12/2020 21:55

I think the type of people who would care will definitely notice and care, unfortunately. But most people won't, most people are.fairly nice and fairly.polite imo.

alexdgr8 · 04/12/2020 21:55

what age is he ?

SpeckledyHen · 04/12/2020 21:57

I would think he was arty or a musician.

alexdgr8 · 04/12/2020 21:58

i'm asking because i'm surprised you are buying his clothes for him.
even as a xmas present, wouldn't it be safer to give him money to buy his own clothes, so he can't complain about choice, size.

TooMinty · 04/12/2020 21:58

My son likes pink and I buy him pink clothes - pjs, fleece, t-shirts etc. But he's only 8 so easier to find stuff and probably people are less judgemental. He's got a pink jacket, from Mountain Warehouse but it's not fluffy, haven't seen anything that meets that description.

blackpoolsneighbour · 04/12/2020 21:59

Nothing really, it'd be his choice. The people who would judge him don't matter.

alexdgr8 · 04/12/2020 21:59

i think it's totally irrelevant what other people may think.

berrygirlie · 04/12/2020 22:00

Super cool he knows his own style and can rock it! But I really like pink as a colour anyway to be fair!

Worriedandabitscared · 04/12/2020 22:01

I wouldn't think much of it but other kids/teenagers might but they'll be assholes anyway, I imagine your son will rock it :)

Purplecatshopaholic · 04/12/2020 22:01

If I noticed and cared at all, I would likely covet the coat. If it’s what he wants to wear he should

TrainspottingWelsh · 04/12/2020 22:04

I would steer my sons away if I had them less they caught 'the gay'. Then I would put down my banjo, clasp my 14 fingers and pray for him to be shown the error of his individuality, and beseech the Lord to bless him with more manly taste.

Is that a valuable opinion? Because most people won't even notice, and if anyone does care are their thoughts something worth considering?
