I'm treating myself to a couple of cans of Camden Pale ale tonight... mmm πŸ˜‹ It's sooo lush.

What's your favourite ale?

Hobgoblin Gold or St Austell Tribute. Mmm....

summerstorms · 04/12/2020 19:45

Well it used to be Wychwood Fire Catcher, but I can't bloody find it anywhere

sittingonacornflake · 04/12/2020 19:49

Ooooh I've just finished a bottle of tribute. Bloody lush.

I second Doom Bar.

lastqueenofscotland · 04/12/2020 20:07

Track Sonoma is ridiculously good.

adawong · 04/12/2020 20:13

Moorhouse's A.P.A.

tallastrees · 04/12/2020 20:14

Ooo just googled Track Sonoma - does sound nice @lastqueenofscotland

I've not tried some of the other ones mentioned, will have to get more adventurous.

Deuchars for me.

WildRosie · 04/12/2020 20:25

Theakston Old Peculier, when it's on top form, is hard to beat. Likewise, Adnam's Broadside.

I wish the pubs were open, scotch eggs or no scotch eggs. Beer from bottles and cans just is not the same.

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 04/12/2020 20:30

Not strictly ale but my favourites are a Belgian WestMalle triple and brewdog marshmallow chocolate stout

mineofuselessinformation · 04/12/2020 20:33

Old Peculiar and Broadside as already mentioned.
Theakston's Black Sheep is also lovely if you like a dark / heavy ale.
Oh and Fuller's London Pride.

MsRinky · 04/12/2020 20:45

My parents live in Masham, home of both Theakstons and Black Sheep breweries where you can get all their ales in absolute peak condition. I’ll be so sad not to be sinking a few pints of Masham ale in the White Bear this Christmas.

ShipshapeShore · 04/12/2020 20:47

I quite like a Fursty Ferret. And Doom Bar. But my very favourite is my Dad's home brew that I've not been able to have for months!

merryhouse · 04/12/2020 20:56

Taylor's Landlord
Theakston's XB
Ruddle's County from the 80s

...I may be stuck in my student days

TinkersRucksack · 04/12/2020 21:16

Brains Dark.

Only easily available in Wales

blackpoolsneighbour · 04/12/2020 22:08

Properly kept Abbot Ale and several of the others mentioned upthread.

ItIsMyName · 05/12/2020 00:02

Champion from Badger - the best slightly chilled with a curry!
Hobgoblin & Hobgoblin Gold
Timothy Taylor Landlord.
Happily all are available in our local Asda.

TeddyIsaHe · 05/12/2020 00:07

Not an ale as such but Hackney Brewery Millions of Peaches is the best sour everrrrrr.

Harbour Brewery Arctic Sky cold IPA is far too delicious.

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2020 00:11

Speckled Hen, Hobgoblin, Fursty Ferret and Abbot are some of my favourites. DH makes a fine home brew, too.

Manolinette · 05/12/2020 00:34

Wiper & True

St Werburgh’s, Bristol. Expensive but the best. Serve chilled with steak.

Voyager54 · 05/12/2020 06:51

Mc Ewan's Champion Scotland 7.3% one of my favourites or St Austell Proper job

Frownette · 05/12/2020 07:00

Missy sippy jazz ale

OldSpeclkledHen · 05/12/2020 07:03

Oooh like Old Crafty Hen, Abbots Ale and Fursty Ferret.

Local pub owned Arkells Brewery so 3Bs and Kingsdown. Now it's Dec hoping they'll have the Noel on!

Friend been going to Rebellion Brewery... they have some nice beers hand pulled πŸ™‚

All ale better from the pump granted, but beggars and all that ..😳

OldSpeclkledHen · 05/12/2020 07:04

Oooh and not technically an Ale but Leffe is very quaffable ☺️
