38 years ago, the body of a baby was discovered. Due to the hard work and love of a team of investigators and researchers, this baby, known as Delta Dawn, has been given her name back. Sadly, her mother is still missing.

Sleep tight, Alisha Ann Heinrich ❤🌟

That’s absolutely heartbreaking and incredible all in one isn’t it. Heartbreaking for the family and the people working the case, and amazing that the advance in technology has allowed it to happen. There’s a lot of great work going on in cold cases now, thanks to the advances in technology. (The Golden State killer’s arrest thanks to the genetic genealogy research seemed to come out of nowhere but worked incredibly well.)

Hopefully current technology will allow more families to be reunited with their lost loved ones. I can’t imagine the not knowing.
