Dreams! The ones you have when you sleep

Last night I dreamt that I was in a very fancy restaurant in a luxurious hotel.
Wealthy people brought their horses to dine in the restaurant with them.

My dad pointed out a beautiful blue and gold couch in the lobby and told me that it was the couch where he sat with his eyes closed to count a little bit before going to bed.

I voiced my misgivings about him accidentally falling asleep on the couch. Apparently that wasn't the sort of question I should have asked, and he tutted at me and shook his head.

What dreams have you had?

The last dream I had was I spilled coffee on my keyboard and lap, and I woke up annoyed that I'd wasted a dream on that.
I have several recurring 'Alice in Wonderland syndrome' type dreams where the laws of physics are altered and I have to take a journey that doesn't make much sense - I'll be walking up a flight of stairs but travelling down. Sometimes I have to dodge vampires or zombies as well.

Last night I dreamed I was in a busy shopping centre walking into M&S and two women cornered me and started shouting at me because I was invited to the Queen's garden party and they weren't. It was all a misunderstanding and I wasn't invited to anything of the sort (and I wouldn't go even if I was invited) but they wouldn't listen.

That was no ordinary dream...Grin

This morning DD dreamed she'd got up and got dressed for school...she was most put out when I woke her and she was still in her pyjamas Grin

I had a strange one last night which involved repeatedly stabbing a crocodile through the head while it was being held down, but it was an anthropomorphic one in child like form.

I still feel sick and guilty thinking about it now.

I have a recurring dream that my teeth fall out.

LeglessGiraffe · 04/12/2020 18:12

I dreamed I was late to collect DS from school because I only had 5 minutes to get there and I was at my relatives old house 200 miles away. I was very relieved when I woke up and realised I hadn't actually left him stranded!

I had a lovely dream that Jack Whitehall was my boyfriend and he was so sweet Grin. I was so upset when I had to leave him and go home (I don't know where we were) because I had to sit next to Gary Barlow on the plane!

I frequently dream I have lost my car in a parking lot and am frantically trying to find it.

My other favourite is having an exam in something like math or chemistry when I have skipped class and not studied.

Neither dream is pleasant!

Frownette · 04/12/2020 18:46

I woke up swatting my arms around last week to stop imaginary spiders abseiling (sp?) onto me.

It was one of those moments where you wake up properly and feel grateful no-one was there to witness your stupidity.

I dreamed I was having a proper fight on top of a tall building. I tried to push my adversary over the edge but ended up falling off myself. As I was falling I was calmly thinking "Hmm .. that didn't work out how I'd planned it".

Aibu to-ask for a tarot reading?

CourtAndSpark2 · 04/12/2020 20:08

I sometimes (very rarely) have dreams about relatives that have passed away that were very close to me. Somehow in the dream, I know they are dead, but yet it feels real. When I wake up afterwards I feel sad, but also elated as I feel I have have connected with them again.

Oh lambtails that does sound disturbing!

I've had the teeth falling out dream, and they turned blue (bluetooth! Punny subconscious!).
Another subconscious dream pun was when a shop window melted in a fire. The fire brigade turned up and handed over a disc for "restoring windows" lol.

Courtandspark, I love having dreams of people who have passed. I had a wonderful one where my mum, her sister and her mother were having breakfast in a modernist hotel ( rather full of austere concrete, but the stairs had plants growing in delves in the bannisters). They were really excited and pleased as they were leaving on a big ship for an adventure. Oh I feel teary now!
