How long for covid swab test results now?

Any idea how long I have to wait? I know it could be up to 6 days officially, but would like to know there’s light at the end of the tunnel (and that I can leave home to buy bread and milk soon without needing a £35 order of food when I’ve less than that in my bank account!) Has anyone any recent experience? I’m certain it’s just a cold but am stuck indoors until it’s confirmed, plus I’ll have to cancel work next week unless I can prove it!

Had one last week, test at 10:30 results emailed through at just before mid night

My 3 year old had 1 at 8.30 on Tuesday morning and it was back at 7.30 that evening so 11 hours! We're in Birmingham

Wow, all so quick! I’m 32 hours and counting...

We had one done at the hospital at DDs pre-op and the results came back within 12 hours for us both. That was a few weeks ago though as she's just come out of hospital.

DH did one through a drive thru easier in the week and it was back the same evening.

It’s back! Negative.

Was going to post 24 hours, but pleased the result is back - and negative! It's a massive relief when it is, isn't it?!

DS had one Wednesday morning we got the results back Thursday morning early. It was less then 24 hours.

Still waiting!!

I got a swab on Tuesday lunchtime and it came back the same evening.
