My ex works in retail so during the first lockdown he was furloughed for three months and subsequently paid me less maintenance but also paid it late every month. He kept saying he hadn’t been paid yet, his boss kept fobbing him off saying it was ‘being processed’ etc. It caused a lot of stress but once shops reopened he returned to work and I thought that was the end of it.
Obviously the second lockdown last month meant he was, once again, furloughed. He was placed on ‘flexi furlough’ this time, he worked 2 days a week sorting click and collect orders. He is once again claiming he hasn’t been paid yet so maintenance is now three days late and I’m becoming increasingly stressed out by it.
I’m just wondering whether he’s telling the truth or not really. How likely is it that he hasn’t been paid? Everything I’ve read online seems to say furlough should just be paid on the date you’re normally paid and others I know who were furloughed continued to be paid as normal too.
