Moving my 8 month old to his own room

I'm moving into my first home, and my baby is 8 months old (first baby) and he has slept next to me (moses basket and cot) since he was born we've never been apart for too long. I need help/tips on how to get my baby to sleep in his own room. He wakes up about 3 or 4 times at night crying looking for me i think he has separation anxiety (i know i do) i reassure him he falls back to sleep, i give him my top to cuddle at night so he is relaxed, i love that he is clingy but i know its time for him to be in his own room but the thought of SIDS scares me 😔 My Health Visitor is Hopeless not heard off her in 4 months 😒 so I'm asking for any experienced mums out there, any tips??

There's no rule saying he has to be in his own room just because he is over 6m, if you like him in your room leave him in with you for now.

DS1 went in his own room at 2.5, DS2 (a better sleeper) will probably go at one.
