Sectioned under the mental health act

I’ve been placed on a section 2 and the ward is so unsettled and noisy. They kept putting the lights on while I was trying to sleep. I really don’t even need to be here.

Is anyone able to bring you some earplugs? Hope it helps you.

I guess so I’ve still not had any of my stuff brought up yet.

Would you like to talk about why they’ve placed you on that? I know sometimes, especially if you’re a particularly strong person, it can be really difficult to accept that you’re not feeling the best and need some care

Ask the nurses if they can get you ear plugs and an eye mask. They will be putting the light on to observe you are safe and they won't be able to stop doing this, though they should make an effort to disturb you as little as possible.

Just because you have been placed on a section 2 doesn't mean you will necessarily have to stay long. Ask your Responsible Clinician whether you can go home with support from the Crisis Team.
