Canadian gifts/big brands in Canada? Looking for Xmas present ideas...

Hi all, appealing for help from anyone Canadian or who has recently visited/lives in Canada. My good friend has emigrated to Toronto and I'd like to send her a Christmas gift, ideally without buying it here and paying extortionate airmail costs, so the best thing would be (I think) to buy directly from a Canadian company and then avoid expensive delivery charges. Can anyone recommend any Canadian companies which would be good for Christmas gifts? I'm hoping to avoid Amazon Canada as I'm looking to diversify where I shop and support other businesses.... thanks in advance!

Hi, I've been sending Xmas gifts to my family in Montreal for twenty odd years. I've found the best place to buy from is Amazon.ca. Walmart is ok but make sure you are buying from Walmart itself and not a third party or the postage can be quite high.
Postage from UK to CA has also gotten quite expensive. Just today I spent £7 posting some bronzer balls that my sister loves but only cost me £1.99 to buy in Home Bargains.

Just seen you want to avoid Amazon. You could try local gift companies in Canada. I used to send my mum and dad coffee samples and made up my own gift boxes. They also worked out very reasonable.
