Little bits of happiness

I’m on leave today and it’s so nice taking myself to bed in the middle of a working day just because I’m tired and I can. (I know how lucky I am that don’t have DC/other responsibilities)

Have you had a little bit of happiness recently?

Well I found a chocolate bar that I thought I had already eaten! This is a very very rare thing!

I had a sales rep flirting with me today. He's not my type at all but it still cheered me right up shallow Xmas Grin

I had a good work day today, and have mostly been wearing elf slippers on zoom calls.

I am the proud owner of 2 beautiful knitted hats I recently bought from etsy. They make me happy with their loveliness.
I sometimes mutter under my mask "behold my hat, for it is a thing of great beauty".

My telephone call to VAT call centre only kept me on hold for 20 mins and when I got through to a person he actually helped!! Happy days!

The charity shop near me is open today for the first time in ages and I've managed to get rid of donate a huge bag of clothes I've been carrying in the boot of my car since May. Hooray!

The charity shop by me is open too and I bought this metric tonne of baubles for £2 and made this beaut, and every time I go past the stairs it brings me such festive joy!

The bauble decoration is beautiful! Very creative

I remembered that I had a hidden panettone. Saved me from having to make emergency flapjack. (It was a grey wet afternoon and something was required.)

viques · 03/12/2020 19:51

The bauble thing is lovely, what a bargain!

We overslept this morning, frantic morning but just about all got where we needed to be on time. When I got into work my colleagues were surprised to see me?. Turns out I had booked a day off for a now cancelled apt. I stopped at Tesco, got myself some treats on the way home & I've spent the day watching Christmas movies. Lovely & unexpected battery recharge.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/12/2020 20:09

Aw thanks, literally the easiest craft EVER!

I love the idea of an impromptu battery recharge. At the moment I feel like I daren't stop in case I never restart again!

shinynewapple2020 · 03/12/2020 20:18

That's brilliant @thenewaveragebear1983

Mehmehmeh19 · 03/12/2020 20:22

My DH has been off today. Whilst I was at work he did the big shop ( a job he knows I hate )

Made the tea, and he bought a chocolate orange at shopping not for Christmas for now.

floppybit · 03/12/2020 20:28

@thenewaveragebear1983 how did you make that? It's fantastic!

LuckyAmy1986 · 03/12/2020 20:52

@thenewaveragebear1983 How did you make that please? I love it!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/12/2020 21:45

It's so easy! You get a length of wire, twice the finished length you want , fold it in half . Then just thread your baubles onto each end (only one end through each bauble hook) About every ten or so baubles you give it a little twist to tighten it up. As my ds (5) said, you end up with 'a beautiful Christmas snake' GrinI threaded a cheap battery powered string of lights onto it as well for extra bling.

Bagadverts · 03/12/2020 22:28

I love the bauble snake!
